my son keeps telling me, Mrs ____ said don't be late again, the other day he told her I forgot to bring him to school (he was sick, I didn't forget), he said Mrs___ said you can't forget to bring me to school again. so today I wrote a note and put it in his folder (he is in k btw).

"Mrs ____,

Please refrain from having my son relay messages to me regarding absences, tardiness, etc. If you have any questions or concerns please feel free to contact me directly on my cell (###-####), e-mail (email@email.com), or via note in his folder.
Also, the reason he was absent Monday was that he still was not feeling well [this is not in the note, but he was out thurs-fri due to illness too].Not sure why he told you I "forgot", but again, that's why direct communication between you and I is essential. Thank you.
Sincerely,
_______ ________
Mother of ______ ________

Does that come across rudely or is it appropriate?

Did you call his absence in to school? That should have cleared everything up right away.

Did you not call in the absense or send an absence note? And it is not her fault that YOUR son gave her wrong info.

I wouldn't have written a note at all. Who cares what the teacher says?

I think it is fine. You don't have to notify the school of absences?

I agree.

Seems unnecessary.
