Does giving birth stink?

Posted by Anonymous   + Show Post

I have never given birth, I adopted my DHs daughter. He said that when the mom delivered it was a putrid rotten smell. I said maybe she shit on the table, he said no- it was totallly different like rotten blood. I've also had some people tell me it hardly smells at all. SO which is it?

The only different smell I had was the after birth blood. Nothing rotten, just had a different smell.

Where were you?

Quoting ColieO:

I didn't notice a smell at all. And I gave birth in a small enclosed space with the heaters cranked up full blast.

Placenta has the nastiest smell.

Well there is blood, so it's a bit similar to a period smell. It doesn't smell strongly though, unless there's an infection or something.
