Does giving birth stink?

Posted by Anonymous   + Show Post

I have never given birth, I adopted my DHs daughter. He said that when the mom delivered it was a putrid rotten smell. I said maybe she shit on the table, he said no- it was totallly different like rotten blood. I've also had some people tell me it hardly smells at all. SO which is it?

Well there is blood, so it's a bit similar to a period smell. It doesn't smell strongly though, unless there's an infection or something.

3 births, I don't recall anything smelling bad.

So it is a known fact that some births smell intense and some hardly smell at all?

I didn't smell anything with my two, or when I helped my friend. Maybe there was something wrong with her?? That seems really gross.

I dont think you smell it when you are giving birth or you just dont care (like pooping on the table).

I tried to be there for my nephews birth. I smelled it

Maybe they think that metallic blood smell is a rotten smell?  It should only smell that way if it's not cleaned up quickly enough.

But see how some people say it does? I wonder why.

4 births in hospitals and no rotten smells

1 mom liked this

Probably. But honestly I was too busy pushing a human out of my vag to notice.  Afterward, I was too busy gazing at the beautiful face of that tiny human and watching them breastfeed to notice.
