Can you feed a hungry family of 4 for under 400 a month? Can you do it for less? Can you do it for half that?

Lets see what everyone can come up with.

Well since I feed a family of 6 for $500-$600 dollars and that is with all boys.  I am 100% positive I could for a family of 4.

Fresh tomatoes and peppers from the garden simmered down with some spices and a little mozzarella cheese put over buttered pasta.

Box mac n cheese with tuna added for mock tuna helper

Eggs

Homemade pancakes

Shredded chicken, rice, crm of chicken soup, broccoli cheese soup, milk,  mixed with some fresh or frozen broccoli and cheddar cheese and baked.

Trust me I have a million others homemade pop tarts, cheeze its for snacks etc.

Sausage, eggs, hashbrowns, tortilla shells, cheese

Make a bunch of breakfast burritos. Saran wrap them and freeze them. Microwave when ready to eat.

I don't see why it would be an issue. To be honest I don't carefully keep track of what I spend on groceries, I just stop by when needed but I do tend to spend an average of 70-120 each time and it's no more than once a week, usually less.  This includes things like toilet paper, cleaners, feminine hygene, etc.  We don't eat huge portions of meat at every meal, simply because we don't want to.   I think that helps.

Easily. But it depends on your stores, COL area, etc.

Picadillo- spanish potatoes an meat. Fried potaoes, ground beef, tomatoe sauce and chile. Adding more potatatoes can make it go even farther still while being delicious. Add sliced tomatoes or a green salad and voila, fed up to 8 people for about 8 bucks.
