Drug addicts and alcoholics are the biggest drain to healthcare.

I may not be an expert but I do have 14 years of medical experience. In all of my time as a nurse, almost every addict that comes through E.R. Doors that gets admitted to a medical floor leaves AMA. Those bills are rarely paid. This is just my opinion.

Uninsured and illegals are too.

So are politicians. They get free healthcare for life.

I saw that often when I worked in the ER, but luckily the majority were serious about getting treatment.

good luck? lol I'm not too worried, I don't ever judge an addict for being an addict, I don't know their story. but!! please don't come begging for help and then leave (also, leaving your entire bill for someone else to pay) because you can't get your pain meds the way you take them at home.

see you should have made your troll post about this. firegodess, well her point is more relevant. *warning broad generalization to make a point * at least half alcohol and drug addicts have money, hence, private insurance!!!!!

Every now and then one comes along that stays committed to getting help, but the majority of the time they are admitted to a med floor and once detoxing begins, they want meds that we can't give, they can't take it and leave. Its sad, really. I am understanding and compassionate, I realize they are in pain but at some point they need to realize this won't be easy and try to push through, but they end up giving up.

Biggest drain on everything. Drug addicts need to be put down.

ETA: For the most part, there are exceptions to everything.
