There is no way to end poverty. American poverty is *almost* a joke in other countries, too. No matter how much money is given to the poor, they'll never be rich because of inflation and supply and demand say so. Sad but true. 8(

1 mom liked this

Also, no matter how much we try to safe guard the system there will always be abusers and fraud cases, just like with rich people. Most are honest with taxes etc, but there is always that small group out there trying to hide a million dollars offshore to avoid paying 10k in taxes on it. 8(

Pull good paying jobs out of our asses that anyone can work with or without an education. Jobs is the only thing that will end poverty.

A good start would be making education more affordable.

A good start would be to carefully choose your state elected officials. make sure to vote in the ones who are for welfare reform. check out their ideas, and progress made.  :)

Make ground meat out of pedophiles and give it to starving people.

2 birds. 1 stone.

Jobs. We need to get away from being a service-oriented economy and actually get manufacturing jobs back that pay a decent wage without needing a college degree. Emphasizing education is fine, but not everyone is cut out for college. How the heck we get those jobs back, though, I have no idea.

Welfare abuse? No idea.

Not really. Also, say we give everyone a house, a car, and the ability to make 10 bucks an hour. That will just become the new line of poverty. Inflasion will hit and things will become even more expensive for everyone else. The lower middle class will then fall off the edge into poverty. The cycle will continue. Humans always want more. What we consider poverty (no new Christmas toys,no ablility to have cable, a car, new clothes, and meat at most meals) and what used to be poverty (never having a toy,not having a house with a floor, a drought killing the tiny veggie garden you had so you eat potatoes for months, and meat is a dream, not having shoes) are vastly different. No matter how much we try and change the line between poverty and not, it's always going to be there. We can just shuffle it around.

*That doesn't mean I don't think charity should be given. I just believe that acceptence that there will always be the poor should be more abundant.
