She gets 2 packets of work on Friday that is due the following Friday. 1 packet is spelling with 5 or 6 worksheets to do and the 2nd one is a reading log for 4 days, 2 or 3 math sheets, and a reading comprehesion story with several questions to answer.

Mine is first grade, but she typically has 20 minutes of reading, a math worksheet, 5 sentences to write, and has to write several words 3 times each.

My six year old son is in first grade. Average homework per night is reading a chapter and writing five sentences about his reactions to it, doing a science reading and answering ten questions about it,doing a math page from his textbook, and doing a reading and answering questions on social studies. It takes about a half hour to an hour each night.
