My SO and I just had a baby 5 months ago. We are a younger couple, 20 and 21. I have been paying my portion of the bills with extra financial aid money I have, but it will run out in March or April. I can't stand the thought of leaving my daughter for 8 hours a day, 5 days a week. But money is super tight. We are living on 800/month! Well, I may have a way to be able to stay home with my daughter. My mother offered to let us live in her basement thats re-done for only $100/month. I want to take her offer SO bad. But I don't know how I feel about living at home again. I left at 18 because they were strict ass holes. Granted, I'm 21 now. But I just feel like not everything is going to have changed. I don't feel like they'll respect our privacy. And she's already said my step-dad will check our apartment once a day to make sure its clean (REALLY?). And I don't want to be expected to clean THEIR portion of the house, which I'm not entirely sure they wouldn't expect of me. Would you take the offer? Its sooooo good in some ways, but definitely has it's downfalls.

No way. Quite frankly you're not in a stable financial situation and you should be working.
Maybe ask your mom if she'd be willing to help with babysitting instead.
