crib question

Do you have to put bumpers in a crib? Or can you put your baby in a crib without them and the baby will be ok? Also do you need a postioner for your baby? Or can you just lay you baby on his/her side?

Bumpers are no longer considered safe for babies under one. These days, they want a royally empty crib with baby in a wearable blanket. No toys, blankets, etc.

Safe sleep guidelines say nothing in the crib with the baby but a tight fitting sheet on a firm mattress

PS they also say sleep on back only. I'm shocked you didn't get three lectures at the hospital.

Bumpers are considered a safety hazard and really shouldn't be used at all.

And positioners aren't necessary a baby should be sleeping on it's back

No need for any bumpers or positioners. Just crib, sheet and baby.

No bumpers & no positioners. Baby should lay on his/her back. Nothing in the crib but a fitted sheet.

Its up to you. Some people have success or failures with both.

Oh well that makes sense then! Don't worry, between the hospital and the doctor you will get a ton of information.
