Lorde - racist or not?

I came across this news on the net that an "influential blogger"  ( someone I have never heard of ) is claiming the band Lorde is racist sighting the " deeply " racists lyrics in their hit song Royals.  Now if you don't know the band or the song, the band is New Zealand. The lyrics this blogger is talking about goes like this

But every song's like:
Gold teeth
Grey Goose
Tripping in the bathroom
Bloodstains
Ball gowns
Trashing the hotel room

We don't care, we're driving Cadillac in our dreams

But everybody's like:
Crystal
Maybach
Diamonds on your timepiece
Jet planes
Islands
Tigers on a gold leash

We don't care, we aren't caught up in your love affair...

Now when I first heard this song, I will say a few rap songs came to mind when she mentions gold teeth and grey goose, but I didn't think this was JUST about rap songs. Nor did it hit me that this song is specifically targeting black people. I mean there are other rappers who are not black who sing/rap about the same things. And I have heard it in pop songs, and some rock songs. When I first heard the song, I got the message that they were saying " hey we don't need to sing about all the luxuries in life because we are not driven to become something more than what we are". I kind of figured they are sending the message that you don't have to need all those things to be successful. I feel like they are talking more about the life style these young artists are about these days, and has less to do about race.

What is your opinion on their lyrics? Racist or not?

How are they racist?  and to who? and why is that your conclusion?

Kind of rhetorical.

Are you asking me or the person calling them racist?

No.  Heck, Miley Cirus does all that crap in her videos and she's as white as they get!

I don't think so. I think she is just singing about the unnecessary gloating about extravagance.

I don't think they're racist. I just figured she was talking about an expensive lifestyle or whatever.

I just like the analzing.

But no it never popped in my head to be racist.  It popped in my head she was stereotyping rich performers.  In my filter I never once thought it was a black stereotype because a lot of rich folks do these things from the newest upcoming rapper, to Ms Cyrus, to the Prince of England (UK or whatever they are calling it now)
