Your SO admitted to you marriage probably wasn't going to happen. That he'd be fine doing common law, the changing your name. But an actual ceremony probably not. That he felt the meaning of marriage just isn't there anymore. Would you stay?

No. Marriage is very important to me. Common law doesn't exist in most states anymore. 

I also wouldn't have children with someone I wasn't married to.

That's how I am. I don't need the wedding pr any of that. I just want Jim. And him telling me he wants to grow old together and how he shows me its true...is enough for me.
