Dh gets a pension from the va. If the government shutdown lasts, the VA is going to run out of money which means veterans won't get paid. Idk what we are going to do. We are going to call our mortgage company and the bank and see what can be done to gey us through a month. We have food and everything we need. idk if the electric and water companies will be willing to help. I guess we will see.

My suggestion is one or both of you find jobs as soon as you can

If you have auto pay with your mortgage it can take 2 weeks for them to stop it, and they may need it in writing

Dh is 90% disabled with 10% unemployability. I have no problem going back in the work force. Looks like I will have too.

I'm facing the same boat, only because I'm a government employee. I'll be signing up for every temp agency in town.

Good luck, I'd start applying to places tonight, it takes time.

Our mortgage is and so is our life insurance and a couple other bills. We are calling everyone and going to figure out what we can do.

I read somewhere that banks will give zero percent loans to people in those situations. Hope that's the case.
