My dd has to write a 3 paragraph paper on a native American tribe. She had 4 to choose from. Her choice the kaweah, I think I spelled it right. The only info I found was that it's not federally recognized tribe. So can anyone point me in the right direction. She needs to know where they are from, what they hunt and what they ate. And what type of weapons they made/use.

Thank you ladies for your help. I'm just going to talk to be teAcher tomorrow .

I suggest picking one you can actually find information on.

Choose a federally recognized tribe or head to your local library (the internet isn't the best resource).

What are the other three she has to choose from? BF is part Cherokee, but he got his religious training from a Lakota Sioux medicine man.

They are Chua, miwolk, hupa. Not sure of the spelling. And from the way she was telling I don't think she remembers correctly. But she was saying something about the 4 tribes. If that makes any sense.

I think she meant "Hopi". If so, I know a couple of different legends from that tribe. You should probably call the teacher and ask for clarification though.

From this link.  http://500nations.com/tribes/Tribes_State-by-State.asp it appears that they're from North Carolina.   Their diet would be similar to the Tsenacommacah (natives that colonists of Jamestown met in Virginia) tribes.   They planted corn and hunted and fished and ate native plants and berries.   But first you need to establish where they lived.

Just message me your e-mail and I'll give you the information. This blog will not let me give you the info as a comment. Plus, what were your daughter's other three options besides the Kaweah Indians?
