I actually saw them being discussed in person. My dad asked my little sisters boyfriend how much he makes because they were discussing car payments. Her bf is only 19 so he works at Arby's while going to school. He simply said "not much, sir" and just laughed it off. You could feel the awkwardness though.

I felt so bad for him! I wanted to tell my dad to shut up lol

That is rude. The kid is 19. Was your dad expecting for him to say he makes 6 figures?

I don't think he was expecting him to make a lot. He was just going to use the numbers for their conversation. Either way, it was really awkward.

My BIL just bought a $30k new car. I'm a bit pissy with him. Yeah 'his money his choice', but he was warned by everyone not to buy the freaking car. He's 19 as well.
