Mom Confessions Mom Confessions
I have PTLS. I've been waiting 2 months to see a specialist. In that time I was rescheduled twice. I finally got in today after a four hour wait.

The moment the guy came in, he had written me off. He said ptls is fake and all my symptoms are psychosomatic. Fake symptoms from having been raped years ago. Never mind that I was fine for four years after rape and these problems started when my period resumed a year after getting my tubes tied.

So, he did an ultrasound... Was SHOCKED that I asked to insert the wand myself, and then did a manual exam. He inserted 4 fingers for the manual exam. Crazy. Fucking. Painful! Then proceeded to tell me my symptoms are in my head and offered me a shot to shut down my pituitary gland and induce menopause, knowing that the side effects include full body pain, which i already have,.and its not safe for breastfeeding.

I'm so frustrated. I mean, wtf?? I just want some answers, not to be treated like I'm making it all up :(

I have no idea. That sounds really, really dangerous.

He wants to shut down your pituitary gland?! Does he even know what he is doing?!

Four fingers for an exam?! Where the hell did he get his medical license?

May I ask why you got a tubal to begin with? Were you open for a c section already?

It certainly does considering what the pituitary gland is all involved in. This sounds flat out crazy!

I had four mcs before having two healthy babies. I almost died with WA h c section. The second one, I flatlined. My babies did not do well either. I had one 15mo pp because it would be unwise for me to get pregnant again

1 mom liked this
I would feel extremely violated after that and would make a formal complaint. Four fingers is unnecessary for a vaginal exam.

Please tell me you reported him. Was there a nurse in there too? I always thought male doctors were required to have a female nurse in there with them with female patients for liability purposes...

OMG, I had a horrible doctor like that once too. I went to pain management for my pain that I've`had since I was a little girl but nobody could figure out. He told me that it was probably all in my head but would order xrays because there was one other thing he thought it could be, and that think, he said, would require back surgery. I told him a had a baby boy and was not ready for this surgery and I'd rather be in pain for a few years until he's more independant and then do it. He then told me, "You are going to get the surgery if I tell you to get the surgery and it really isn't up to you!" He was an ass. I left and never went back. I then found a lovely Rheumatologist who finally diagnosed me and is doing an amazing job managing my symptoms.
