why wont you let your kids be what they WANT for halloween??

I see this every year, kids who want to be things like batman, spiderman, minnie mouse, cinderella, witch, WHATEVER, and their parents wont let them.

because those costumes are lame, trashy, cheap, overused, etc.

they want thier child to stand out, win all the costume contests, and be "unique"

with costumes like bonnie and clyde, elvis, marilyn monroe etc

anyways, what i really want to know is why? why cant they be what they want to be? within reason obviously.

idk i let my kid be what he wants, he's going to be the emporer of grim reapers.

It's dress up, the one night they can pretend to be whatever they want.  So let them.

I really don't care what they choose. As long as it's not a pimp or hooker, just don't think that's appropriate fir 5/7 yr old boys

Because they are the parents, they pay for the costume and that is what they choose?
I don't really care since we don't participate in Halloween.

Because sometimes I just don't want my girls going as Zombies, GI Joes or "that girl on the Disney channel"

So we talk and come to a mutual agreement

I let my kids be whatever they want as long as its appropriate and not scary like witches, zombies, frankenstein, demons, etc

I'm not a fan of DS' costume this year.  He wanted to be Wolverine, and so we got him one of those big ones with the padded muscles and such.  UGH

But he wanted it so bad!
