That seems to be the general idea on here and maybe its just where I live but thats ridiculous.
Where i live i could buy 2 - 10lbs of potatoes, for the cost of a 500g bag of rice. Now obv 500g is not going to last long.. So lets say you were buying 2 - 500g bags of rice. Every two weeks.. That could literally buy you 20 lbs of potatoes & a pack of sausages (5each.) & a pack of ground beef or chicken (4-6pieces) or porkchops (4-6pieces)...and that's just with the amount from rice. (Not going into the cost of beans in my area..honestly org the top of my head I can't remember the cost of a bag of beans lol)
So why is it that people seem to jump right too 'eat rice and beans' when they hear someone is struggling with money?
*** holy crap this got featured lol!! ***
BACK FROM GROCERY SHOPPING!
I priced beans.. For the cost of a 32 oz bag of beans its currently on sale for 2.00, regular 4.00.
32oz is four cups.. So for a family of 3 to have .5 cups, to have enough beans at regular cost since this sale ends in a few days) it would cost 21.00 + taxes. For 21 you could buy 3 more packs of meats + a very large bag of frozen veggies to have as well. Giving an actual meal over rice and beans and variety.
So even with this update and people saying that beans and rice is cheaper its not (again...for my area).
