Ugly Duckling or BBeautiful Swan?

Growing up (lets go with teen years) were you an awkward "ugly duckling" or were you a beautiful swan?

If you were the "ugly duckling", have you gotten more beautiful with age?

If you were the beautiful swan, are you satisfied with your beauty or do you wish you could turn back the clock?

I was always a bit overweight my entire life, so I wasn't viewed by any kind of beauty I had, just my weight. So even if I was pretty, no one actually cared.

I think by my mid 30's I'll look my best. *crossing fingers*

I was the ugly duckling. I had an extended awkward stage. Because of heart medication, I blew up. Moon face, weight gain, all sorts of awful stuff. Add to that I'm socially... well, awkward. Imagine an overweight Hermione Granger obsessed with horror flicks and less fashion sense.... and one friend. lol

After graduation, I had heart surgery. Weight  melted off. I'm not my goal weight, two babies later, but I'm so much more comfortable with who I am, I can thrive in many social situations and can read people much more acurately. I've run into a few that I went to HS with and they didn't even recognize me. I can NOT wait for my 10 year reunion to roll around. I absolutely am going to be a petty bitch about it, too, but so sickeningly sweet that no one can say a thing about it.

Oh, to top it off, I'm more successful than the girls who tormented me endlessly. Maybe it IS shameful to be so thrilled at the way things turned around, but... I'm not going for sainthood. :)

I don't think I was either. I think I was pretty when I was younger...Now I think I look like shit for my age.
