They need to realize not everyone is on Medicaid. News flash: some people in this world still have to pay fr doctor's visits!

And I am not taking my son to the doctor to get a note for school just because he has a cold or was throwing up. We rarely even allow traditional medicines to be given so its not like the dr is of any use to us for minor illness.

If my kid is sick, I am keeping him home. And it is up to me wether or not I take him to the doctor. Sit back and teach my kid how to read and write and stay out of our business at home.

Damn.

You know, most docotrs will give you a note if you just call them, tell them what is wrong, and ask them to fax the note to the school.

If you can't follow the rules or afford medical insurance for your kid to be able to follow the rules home school problem solved he can take off a day for a teeny cold.

Why would you need a doctor's note for a cold anyways?

We have insurance but that doesn't make it free and hell no to home schooling.

Right on. I feel the same. The school doesn't own your children.

They did one time, and after that they have said he probably needs to be seen. They just want money.

I have never had to do that. But my kids are rarely out of school. Know if they were too much. I am sure they would start to ask me to do this.

Yeah it is. I am not driving an hour round trip and sitting in a waiting room for 2 hours for a note from a doctor.
