We just got a pup and it's open enrollment for our insurance through dh work. They offer pet insurance for about $15 a month. Anyone have pet insurance? Worth it?

I don't have it,definitely wish I'd gotten it.I ended up paying around $1000 in surgery bills when my cat got cancer and that's not even including the cost to put her down when the cancer came back aggressively not even a month later.I would absolutely get it this time if I got another pet.

I don't have it yet but I am planning to get it. I don't even have my own insurance right now.

I do. It's through pets mart. It's about 20 dollars a month but it has befn a life saver. We have saved so much already, and he's only a year!

We do we don't have "normal" pets all of ours are exotics. They require specialist vets & the cost adds up.

I dont have it but I think it is worth it. My cousin gave my kids a puppy and I spent $425 in vet bills before she died from complications from a blood transfusion a week later. I have also spent $1500 in vet bills on the dog that I have now. Most of that was just for a broken leg that she had when I got her. Her previous owner "accidently" ran her over with his truck and then was going to shoot her.
Edited to add: I have only had her since 12/01/11

Get it! You never know what could happen. I really wish we had gotten it but it's too late now. The costs for dealing with her allergies are insane and it would have been so much easier had we gotten the insurance

We got pet insurance and its 34 a month for an old cat and a puppy. I've lost 2 pets because I couldn't afford to save them. It was so hard

We have it. It is $35 and covers all three of our Huskies. It really is a life saver.
