What's a 'country' girl? Why is that something people are so proud of?

I have a cousin who thinks she's a country girl, and it drives me nuts lol. She posts all sorts of stupid crap on FB about farming, hunting etc. and she thinks it impresses people.

I'm not the OP but I live on a rural state highway. It's the first road that gets plowed in bad weather. As long as I can get out of my driveway it's all good.
