Smoking will now cost $70 a month extra

Where I work. We will have a surcharge on our insurance of $35 a pay period, which is biweekly, for continued smoking starting January 1. They will suspend it for 6 months so people can quit and smoking cessation programs will be offered. If you don't quit by June 30, 2014 the money will be retroactively owed from Jan 1. They will test for nicotine.

I was blown away and so thankful that I never started smoking lol.

At least they're working with smokers to help them quit. It might be a good thing.

Well they have tons of lawyers so I guess they think they can. I wonder if someone will try to sue.

awesome. smokers cost employers more. they should pay it instead of everyone having to foot the bill.
