Is there a room or somewhere for kitty to go that is completely off limits to the kid? Maybe having a safety zone will help her calm down?

How did you go about the initial introduction?

It may just be because she is older.  Some cats do not like young children.

It's hard for.cats to adjust but not impossible.

Good luck. My husbands aunt passed earlier this week. She has two cats that she loved dearly. We want someone nice to take them but no one wants them.

I keep teasing dh that I'm going to volunteer after the funeral. (I won't, neither of us like cats, she always allowed them on the counter and taught them to turn her kitchen faucet on for drinks....plus they are grouchy and bigger than my dogs lol)

Give the kitty time/ Remember her life has changed a lot in the past few months. Most of the time an older kitties come around and excepts the changes but it takes time.
