Did you have a pre-conception check-up?

My hubby and are currently ttc baby #2. I just had my implant removed today and was told by the nurse to take a prenatal vitiman with foli acid, which I will pick up this weekend. I have stopped taking my lithium. I was wondering, how many of you ladies went to see your doctor/midwife for a checkup when planning a pregnancy? In your opinion is neccessary?

Necessary?   No.   But certainly can't hurt!   I wish I'd known to start my prenatals before conceiving #1 (not that it ultimately mattered -- everything went fine.   But it's still a really good idea).

Best of luck to you!!!  :)   And HAVE FUN with the trying part!  ;)

I just started taking prenatal vitamins and didn't bother with contacting my OB until I got a BFP. So no, we didn't. I don't see the harm, then again I don't see the reason to if all is well with you and your partner.

I just went to the Planned Parenthood clinic for that. My midwide only does the removels at 5:00 in the afternoon and that would be nearly impossible to go to with my husband's work schedule. Planned Parenthood gave me an am appointment.

No, but I see my doctor once a year for an annual checkup. If it's been like 3 years since the last time you saw your doctor then you should.

I am going to a preconception appointment in three weeks. I have been trying for two years with two losses. This is a new doctor and a fertility specialist. I hope she can help.

Lol, same here. We got pregnant the first time with 3 weeks of stopping the pill. Then I miscarried but got pregnant again within the week.
