Would you be shocked at this response from your daughter? (Trigger maybe)

My daughters are playing in their room and I walked in and they were grabbing each other's bottoms laughing. I explained to them they should not be touching each other's or anyone else's privates.
I told them if it happened again or if anyone touched their privates areas they would be in a lot of trouble.

My 6 year old daughters response was "what if they don't live with us?"

Why would she say that?

Yes, I would be concerned.  And try to casually get more information.  That isn't a normal statement for a 6 year old to be making.  It's also kind of odd that they are grabbing each other's butts, but that standing alone -without the weird statement- wouldn't bother me so much.

5 moms liked this
She was probably wondering how would the person that isn't living with them would get in trouble since they are not there for you to punish them.

I know what you meant but If you said what wrote, your children might think they will be in trouble.

I'd tell my child that they should tell me right away, no matter who that person is, where they live, or what they say. Even if they said they'd hurt somebody or that my child would in trouble. They need to tell me so I can protect them.

Not really.

And she hasn't been to any new houses recently. She goes to my parents, my husbands parents, BIL's, school and my brothers sometimes. All of those are occasional not frequent except school.
