*3RD ETA
All of you women saying there is no alternative to public schools are not thinking straight. You could home school, or send them to private school. You are either just too poor or too stupid or too lazy. Quit relying on the government and tax payers and take responsibility for your own children's education! Why did you have children if you can't educate them yourself?!

*2ND ETA
Do you see any alternatives to driving on roads? Any at all? There's no where else to drive, correct? There ARE alternatives to public schooling, just like there are alternatives to being on FS.

Also I don't consider EMT's and ambulances PA because if I were to need a ride in an ambulance, even for a true emergency, the bill is $5,000. Also law enforcement is funded by money paid towards traffic violations and other tickets. Get real, people.

where does our government get its money??? Taxes. Yes, our property taxes go into the education system, through the government. It is the exact same way with food stamps and WIC and other PA. Taxes pay for those programs, just like they pay for public schools.

It's funded by the government. The only thing you have to pay for is supplies, and lunches, but in some cases even those will be paid for.

Think about how fucked some of you PA naysayers would be if all of the sudden you were kicked off of this PA without warning and suddenly had to come up with the amount you would need for private school within 2 days. Application costs, enrollment, supplies, fees.

"I don't use it, so why should I pay into it?"
"SAHM's shouldn't use it because if they don't work, they shouldn't be on PA."

Bash away. It's my opinion and I'm sticking to it.

You do have a valid point.

Frankly, most people use the public dime in some way or another.

Receiving an education is not a choice in this country. It's the law. Thus why public education is provided.

It isn't means tested. Anyone can send their kids to public school. It isn't only available to low income families. It is tax funded, but not a form of public assistance.
