Why do people post anonymous....

When they post things like "Do You Ever Wear Mismatched Socks" or "What Kind of Diapers Should I Buy"? And why do they reply anonymous when they make boring, completely unoffensive replies to boring, completely unoffensive posts? I can understand it if they're saying something shocking or derogatory or incriminating. But why post anon to absolutely everything? Is it just the novelty of being able to do so?

Just wondering.

So nobody knows who's behind the stupid comment or question. People chew you out for using the wrong damn toilet paper on here. Why risk the direct bashing if you don't have to?

not sure, good point, but it's cowardly to reply with nasty comments anonymously.

I have never used anon. I figure im on a site where nobody knows me using a name I have never used, who the hell cares? Even if people do find stuff on me or stalk my profile that's their problem, not mine.
