One of my friends put highlights in my hair last night that was suppose to be a dark red and they came out pink!! My dh seems to like it but I'm not sure on it..... :/

What you describe (dark red)are called lowlights and It was definately done opposite of that being lifted:if you think it is pink now just wait and see how pink it gets after a few washes.

They don't look pink to me...they look bright red.

They look red. What happened was that your color probably bled into your highlights

If you like it, that's what matters, personally when it comes to that type of thing I put my hair into the hands of the professionals

Did you use foil and try to keep the hair separate while rinsing? I gave up on complicated home dye jobs. I go one color or half n half or go to a salon. Lol!

I'm about to go purple or pink and purple.

This was the first time in yrs I did my hair and she didn't use foil or anything. Last time I did mine it was black on top and cherry red under. I wished I had a pic of it I loved it then. I was like 16 when I did it.
