Do you talk at the dinner table? my dh said the dinner table is for eating, not talking. Growing up my parents always talked to us kids about our day what we did,
how was our day..but dh doesn't allow talking at dinner time.. so do you talk at the dinner table or do stay quite?

We always talk about our day. I think it would be boring to eat in silence.

Everyone is different. Depends on our mood if we talk or not

We always eat dinner as a family and use that time to talk about whatever we want. The tv stays off and we talk about our days, tell stories, etc. Sometimes we have to tell our son that he can't talk as much because he is such a slow eater but he has gotten a lot better about it. Dinnertime is family time and it would be weird if we just sat silently and ate!

We always talk whether we're having a (increasingly rare) family dinner or it's just DD and I. DD and I by ourselves are definitely loud and boisterous, with DH here it's more subdued but still lively.

Sounds sad to not talk at the table.

Most definitely. Why would anyone pass up such an opportunity for quality family time like that?

Dh and I don't use a dinner table for the two of us, but I think dinner time is family time and that means talking.
