Mom Confessions Mom Confessions

I think there are a lot of cheap, healthy foods that most people just won't consider for whatever reason...

Cheap and healthy ingredients:

Lentils

Lima beans

Chick peas

Black beans

Oats

Kale

Squash

Tofu....

You can eat extremely healthy for cheap. You just have to add in what all those "super health crazy" people eat ( lol that's what I call most yoga instructors around here)

You're right!

Do you (or any other mamas) have any tasty recipes using those ingredients? Especially beans. :)

Care to share?

Cheap is relative, depending on where you live.

Some a lot of people are not familiar with the preperation or don't like (chick peas, tofu)

I have a huge aversion to lentils as a childhood trauma but otherwise, I eat most things on that list regularly.

Lentil casseroles

Kale salads

Mash the chick peas into a dip

We have Quaker oats for breakfast all the time with a little maple syrup

I'm all about squash and beans, I won't touch tofu or any soy products.
