Everyone Poops.. but me.

How long is too long without a poop? I had a hysterectomy Wednesday afternoon and still haven't had a bowel movement. It doesn't say in the post op instructions and I thought someone here might know.

I know it's some tmi, I've had some brutal gas pains, found out I get heart burn and vomit with Tylenol 3, but no poop. :( I don't want to get TOO backed up. I have been taking stool softeners and gas meds like I' supposed to.

Was thinking about going to urgent care tomorrow if I still can't get something out. :/

Most people go up to about 4 days of no poop. Drink tons of water and walk!

Didn't poop for over a week with csection! Also when I first moved from England to Australia I didn't poop for 2 weeks after that flight!

More than 3 days they recommend stool softeners and laxatives. Try metamucil, milk of mag, dulcolax. The T3 is going to slow things way down.

You are fine still. My mom had a hysterectomy and it took her a while to get back to normal. It's only been 3 days, not a long time at all. If you go over a week call your doc! Otherwise, fiber and water! An apple a day...!

I took that for less than a day because of the issues. I have Percocet, but I've been I it for a long time, but I think it also has to do with the morphine, anesthesia, and getting endo off places down in that area, because it was EVERYWHERE.
