If you have rhumatoid (sp) arthritis, what do you use to treat the pain?

Do your joints lock up?

Whatever you deal with, tell me about.
I'm waiting on test results to come back.

I have RA in my jaw. I use Vicodin right now but I'm having an operation in January that is supposed to help.

I have RA in every joint of my body and Facet Arthopathy in my L1-L3 in my spine...honestly, I don't use anything. I workout and stay very active so that helps immensely.

I do work out at least 3-4 times a week but lately my pain has flared up worse.
I was diagnosed with fibro two years ago.

My mom is on it.

Thank you for answering.

I understand that Fibro makes things much more difficult.

I had to ditch my latest half marathon due to pain from the arthritis in my back. I'm going to Physical Therapy for it and she is trying to get me back to running again. My last run was 8 miles and that was a month ago.. *sigh* ... I was diagnosed with RA when I was 5, so 33 years ago. I was diagnosed with the FA and bulging disks a month ago. *good times*

i was diagnosed at 9 years old. i dont remember the different things i would get put on that didnt work. but i also have  lupus so i just deal with the pain. ive dealt with it for so long that i have a high pain tolerance. i have flare ups occasionally where i hurt more than normal and have to just not do much of anything. im calling my pcp this week (just got insurance, havent been in this state long lol) and going to start finally going to the doctor again though. maybe they'll have something now that helps and doesnt make me sick

I eat as clean as possible, exercise regularly and use heat/cold to manage pain.

Push comes to shove, I use an anti-inflammatory but it is a last resort.

My joints don't lock up usually, just swell with lots of pain.
