I just got my daughter into girlscouts...she wanted to do it so boom signed her up..

$15 to register
$2 a month
$5-$20 on activities a month (this month is a shirt for a Veterans Day parade)

and I just spent $65 in the badge and sash store on her vest/required badges/and books

ETA: somehow this turned into a I pay more then you for _____. But that's not the point.

The point is $4 for a gallon of milk is expensive, I still pay it.

$3+ a gallon for gas, insane.

$65 for a vest some patches and a book. Ridiculous.

I can go all into every activity my kids are in and break down the cost for y'all but I was SIMPLY saying.... For this particular activity, the cost is ridiculous..

Especially considering it's an add on to things we already do

Boy Scouts is 70 to register. 120 for uniform - 20 or so per activity.

Not cheap!

That's cheap compared to a lot of other activities! Football cost us around $600 and its only going to get more expensive as he gets older! We're looking to get dd into gymnastics soon at that will run about 1500 a year.

That's pretty cheap. The activities get more expensive as they get older, so consider yourself lucky lol.

That really isn't a lot but since scouting pretty much advertises how low cost they are, it can be a bit of a shock!
Our school is so awesome. They do these community classes (dance, karate, gymnastics, cooking, lots more) that run 6-7 weeks and meet 1-2 times a week for $65 per period. That's what we do. I did have to buy a couple dance things (tights, shoes, etc), but she is going to sign up more than once, so it's not too bad.
