If it was not for Adoption. Of numerous, illegitimate children. Today those children if abandoned, would have died from neglect. Or if left with a biological parent/s. Might have died from neglect or abuse.

I am all for adoption to give kids a second chance at a family if theirs is unable to care for them, but don't see any reason why you would specify children born out of wedlock. Its not like only kids outside of wedlock can be abused or unwanted.
