How many hours of sleep do you need to get to be able to function properly for the day?

I know this different for everyone-

I need 6 hours and 45 minutes--I received 7.5 hours last night-so I am good to go today-

I get 3 to 4 hours sleep every night and function just fine :)

I never worry about it cause I can always take a nap with my toddler and usually do. If I get anything under 7, I nap.

8 at the least....I get nasty headaches otherwise

A minimum of 6, but I prefer to get a full 8 hours.

I need 8, rarely get it.  I also nap through out the day.  I have a heart condition and tire easily.

I work overnights 2 or 3 days a week so 4 hours or so in the morning when I get home gets me through. On the nights I'm home, I prefer a full 8.

I need atleast 2-3 hours,which is the average of what I get every night
