What kind of punishment is that?  And is it REALLY effective?   Threatening to cancel it due to behavior should be implemented in january, because, the child is obviously ill behaved all year, not just the month before christmas.   And, might as well cancel birthdays, easter bunny, and any other holiday too.

I've never reached this point with my kids so I can't say if I'd do it or not.

Can't say I would though.

Why would you have to cancel Christmas?  Doesn't Santa give coal to the bad boys and girls?

I find parents who desperate due to their child's behavior and their lack of control take away holidays and SPECIAL (lol) occasions. I wonder if a parent who is backed into a corner like that will actually follow through?

I would hope to get a handle on my child's behavior long before I feel the need to take away Christmas.

I think threatening a child with anything is stupid. Why not just take action and parent instead?

I've threatened it before.

Sexual occasions...don't you hate when your parents try to take those away :)

It's completely stupid. I love Christmas. Why would anyone cancel a day of full of love, togetherness, kindness and giving?

I would just give them coal and be done with the holiday.
