Simple, my kids would rather have me home with them than the latest video game or a new vehicle......besides, it bothers me that someone could leave their child with someone who is making minimum wage and has litters of other children to watch with them.

We can afford it so I don't worry about it...IF, we could not afford for me to stay home, have ECA, savings, and vactions/extras... I would get a job.

I don't know, that's not my situation. We can afford for me to stay home.

We cant technically afford it. But I cant get a job, and even if I did. Itd be a waste of time.

My salary = daycare costs for the amount of kids I have. We don't struggle at all, but that was the deciding factor.

We didn't need fancy, expensive, or woowoo stuff so we never could not afford for me to stay home.

It's called budgeting and needs before wants.

if your BARELY affording it you can still afford it. Say you got a job and got paid 1400 a month. You have 2 kids not in school yet; the cost of daycare is 1300 a month so you have 100 left to pay for gas for the car to get to and from daycare and work...not worth it at all. Now if the children are in school then ya why not get a day job? But for me we will be having me stay at home until they are in school unless you make a ton of money.
