i guess thats what i am lol me and my dh are doing thanksgiving just for us this year, since this is our first thanksgiving as a married couple. my sdd(3) is supposed to come and eat dinner with us,and her mom asked me what i was making,so i started telling her everything that i was planning to make and i hear her tell someone in the back ground "what a fucking show off" LOL. then she starts telling me sdd cant eat this and this and this and this and in my head i kept saying "dh just took her to the doctor....shes not allergic to anything",so i just kept saying "yeah,uh huh,i'll remember that". so after she hung up the phone my dh  texts me and says "brit is pissed off because of everything youre making lol",not my fault i love thanksgiving lol

this is what im making just so you can get an idea of how im a "show off"

turkey(i make the gravy from the drippings in the pan)

stuffing

sweet potatoes

green beans(my ds and sdd will help me with these)

mashed potatoes

just plain dinner rolls

ambrosia(fruit in whipped cream, yes we eat that with dinner lol)

pumpkin cheese cake

and an apple pie

i'll have little trays of olives and pickles also

so yep i guess im a show off because of this lol

Why ask if she didn't want an answer? You're not making anything outside of the normal.

Some people just want something to complain about. Pay no attention. Have a Happy Thanksgiving!

Eh...ignore her... that is nothing. LOL

I was a Chef so when I made the meal, it was insane...everything from scratch as well. Of course, a few years ago the Grands decided we needed to go to their homes in FL, so we have a new tradition of going there. I no longer cook as they do it all and have most of it catered.

Mine used to be:

Deep fried turkey

Gravy

Cranberry Cherry compote

Sausage cornbread dressing

Mascarpone cheese mashed potatoes

Sweet potatoes

Lemon green beans

Corn souffle

Collard Greens

Yeast rolls ( homemade)

I also had appetizers of sausage balls, cheese ball, and a veggie tray..

Dessers:

Pumpkin pie

Pecan pie

Derby Pie

Cheesecake of some form ( all from scratch)

That is not showing off. She probably can't cook like that & is jealous. Ignore her & enjoy your holiday!

that's weird we usually have most of that and I make salad and green bean casserole, cranberry sauce and  probably different deserts but still that's a normal amount of food and not showing off at all.
