Well next month I have to pay property taxes.  They are $7000 and yes, I have been saving up.  Plus, I have another quarterly insurance bill of around $2000.  And of course I have a quarterly income tax payment on January 15, and that is $27,000.  So yeah, this time of the year kind of sucks.

So nothing ever breaks down? You car or something in your house?

Quoting Ali5683:

Nothing. I don't get surprise bills. If you do, you should probably seriously consider re-evaluating how you spend your money!

Those I would consider unexpected events. Not unexpected bills.

We rebuilt the front end including the brakes on my husbands truck and are having some body work done to it. We discovered an area that was rusting so we are having it fixed this weekend. When all is said and done it will be a couple of thousand but it will be worth it.

Yes, we prepare for these issues. We don't have car payments so it stands to reason that we will have car repairs come up.

Medical bills. I had to have two brain MRI's, one EKG, one heart ultrasound and an xray. Out of pocket costs, too. I wasn't prepared so now I'm on a payment plan.
