My dog got REALLY sick. We had to hospitalize her for about a week. It cost $3,000!!!

Nothing this month. Just Christmas presents. But we were prepared for that.

Nothing lately, last unexpected thing was our minivan down payment in Aug.  We had talked about looking for a while and weren't in a hurry and we bought one the first day we went looking.

The only thing I can think of recently wasn't a surprise but it wasn't a normal bill either would be the $180 to get our puppy spayed, microchipped, etc.  Yes we were prepared for it, if we hadn't been we simply would have waited on scheduling it.  :)

Either way you word it, it is still unexpected money(a bill) that you have to pay.

Quoting Ali5683:

I don't consider those unexpected bills. I consider those unexpected events.

Quoting crysiann:

Sometimes you will have a surprise, a sick pet or child, an accident. People can't plan on those things. We just make sure to save so we can pay them.

Quoting Ali5683:

Nothing. I don't get surprise bills. If you do, you should probably seriously consider re-evaluating how you spend your money!
