2 nights ago, I found someone (that I don't know) dead. They had hanged them self. I can't shake the image. I just had a nightmare about it last night. Has anyone else experienced this? How do you move on?

I wouldn't be able to either. A friend of mine found her boyfriend at the time with his head blown off. It was all I thought about for months and I was totally removed from the situation.

I'd get in to see a therapist ASAP. I am sorry that you are going through this and I hope time heals things.

I am good at emotionally detaching myself from situations like that. After watching my son take his last breath, I learned not to take death so hard... :/

I saw a man once dead on the ground after an accident (SO stopped to help). And I felt sad for him, but not shaken up.

I found my father dead when I was 17.

Only time and  telling my story over and over allowed me to cope with it.

Talk to a therapist. I had a lady fall out in my works parking lot and bang her head on the gas pump. She was having a heart attack and was trying to get help. By the time I got out there she was gone. I tried to do cpr but it was too late. Her pupils were fixed and dilated. I'll never get that image out of my mind. She was staring straight up *shudders* its been almost 5yrs but its not something you can easily move on from. Good luck.

In Jan it will be 5 years since I found my dad dead in his bed. my therapist help me get past it for the most part. But I will truly never be over that. I still dream about him and that day but now only close to the actually day.

Therapy is the way to go.

If it had been a stranger I imagine it would be different for me.
