Would it be tacky?

My girls ages 9 and 5, have some money they want to use to buy christmas gifts. Would it be tacky to take them to the dollar tree and let them pick out something for everyone they want to buy for? I don't want them to spend all the money they have buying expensive stuff.

Nope, I do that with my kid every year. He loves to buy for everyone!

Why would it be tacky? If someone doesn't appreciate a gift that a child took the time to pick out, that's on them...

No. I think it is great they want to spend their money on other people.

Personally. I would just give them $10 each and let them save their money.

We let the kids buy for each other, pick out a gift for each parent together and their grandpa because this is who they see on xmas morning.

Yes they should only shop at Nordstrom lol. Of course not. I'm sure they will find something cute.

No. I did this with ds when he was 5. He bought his godfather a huge candy cane because godfather always shared his candy with ds. He bought his great grandma an angel figure because she collected angels. He fought his godmother nail polish because she was always painting her nails bright pink.
