I requested thanksgiving off months ago and they accepted it and told me I could have it off. Well this morning my boss came in and said that others had requested it off (within the last week) and now they were rearranging the schedule and I had to work. I didnt really know what to say at first I just kept my mouth shut and went to look at the schedule

It turns out that the three other people that got it off were all going to my bosses thanksgiving dinner. I was so angry and so tired of being mistreated that I walked up to my boss and quit.

None of them have kids or other family to spend thanksgiving with and this was the first thanksgiving in years that all my kids would be here. Plus it is just so messed up to tell me I could have it off when I request it months in advance so others can go to your dinner.

I feel so much better now that I dont have to deal with those people and now I can just relax.

Well...

First off I wouldn't have accepted your request months in advance.

Second, you are easily replaced.

Third, happy thanksgiving

I would find a new job first, but that's a good reason to quit.

Wow, your boss is an asshole.

Good for you.  Enjoy Thanksgiving with your kids.

That's ridiculous. I would file a complaint against your boss too.

Why wouldn't you accept the request months in advance?

Well I would have accepted your request months in advance. I would have done a first come first served policy (as with all requests)  And I am sure you can find another job with employers who are not unfair and allow peole to make actual plans if they wish to do so.
