i cringe when i hear people say a double negative.

 I cringe with double negatives..

seen instead of saw

their, there, they're..

them instead of these or those.. example "Hand me them papers"

With few exceptions, I cringe when most people speak.  I find it hard to believe that any of them passed any level of school.  

I worked with one girl who's response whenever she didn't understand something was "you stupid!"  *shudder*

I bought me a lamp yesterday.

How about you just say, 'I bought a lamp.' Or if you feel the need to clarify who it's for try, 'I bought myself a lamp.'

It just sounds so much more appeasing that way.
