What do your kids call you. I always told my kids they couldn't call me mom only call me mommy, mom made me feel old.

9 year old dd recently asked if she could call us mom and dad. I asked her why and she said hee friends call their parents mom and dad and calling is mommy and daddy make hee feel like a baby. I told her yes, but I don't like it. I really don't. I feel so old. And it soesnt sound right, it sounds so weird. I'm sad now.

2 year old says mommy and daddy most of the time, occasionally  mom. .4 year old is mostly mom and daddy lol. sometimes mom and hardly ever dad.

It alternates between Mum/Mummy/Ma and Dad/Daddy. None of them really stick to one thing.

I'm glad you let her switch to mom. It really does sound babyish after a certain age & it was obviously bothering her. I think my kids were probably about 4 or 5 when they switched on their own.

I'd be happy with a "ma" right now! Dd is almost two and doesn't talk except for a few words. She says daddy, Dada, or da all dang day but not mama!

But anyway, my stepsister called her mom mommy until her mom told her to start calling her mom b/c she sounded like a baby (I think she was 12). I call my parents mama and daddy.
