You are a minor until you are 21 in MS?

WTF? My sister lives there and her son has been acting out. He is 18, well I told her to kick him out and apparently she cant because he is still a minor until 21 years of age.

Is this even true? The age of majority is set at 21. Is there anyway around it?

I think you need a parent to sign off to get married until 21...but I'm not even sure about that...only heard it from someone

Is MS Michigan or Mississippi? Sorry I don't know state abbreviations.

You should check with a lawyer because from what I'm seeing, even though child support & some other things can go until 21, a person is an adult for most things at 18. There are different ages of majority for different items & I would think you could find out from a lawyer for free or almost free the correct answer which I believe will be that she can kick him out at 18.

That is not true for Mississippi (ms). Yes you need a parent to sign to marriage but he can live on his own at 18, buy a car and rent a house or apartment without parental consent.
