Cash Bar, without a doubt.

I think whatever the couple feels is right for them is fine. Neither is tacky.

If I had a wedding with guests, it would have been dry because dh has some alcoholics in his family that tend to get out of hand.

I'd rather attend a wedding with a cash bar than a dry wedding.

Cash bar, hands down.

Dry wedding says I don't care to have alcohol at my wedding. Cash bar says I don't mind having alcohol, I just don't want to pay for my guests refreshments (which is tacky). IMO all food and drink options offered should be free.

cash bar.  The guest has already paid for an outift, paid for a gift, sat through a wedding service...to ask them to pay for their drinks...no thanks.

I think its tacky for people to need alcohol and find any kind of offense in it. But then again I also think the wedding should be about the bride and groom not about the guests.

And yes I know everyone else disagree's with me.

Neither are tacky.  The wedding couple has the right to have the type of wedding they want and are paying for.  Way too many weddings, as well as other special occasions, are ruined with a few people who simply drink too much and can't control themselves.
