Cash bar. I can totally understand a dry wedding, but a cash bar is so fucking tacky.

I think they are the same.  Dry wedding = I can't afford alcohol.  Cash bar = I can't afford alcohol

I don't think either one is tacky. Cash bar says to me that the couple is on a budget and can't afford to pay for alcohol. As long as there are other types of drinks that don't have to be paid for available to the guests I don't see what is wrong with it.

I do think that if you are planning to have a cash bar it is nice to find some way to say that on the invitation so that people are aware and prepared if they choose to drink.

Agreed.

I'd rather attend a wedding with a cash bar than a dry wedding.

Cash bar- its tacky to expect your guests to fork over money for the bar. Either go dry or pay for it yourself.

We did a mix, we paid for all beer and soda plus 3 bottles of wine per table. If they wanted anything else they had to pay for it.
