If I ever get married again, beer and pop will be provided. Everything else will be the guests responsibility.

1 mom liked this
Dry weddings are boring and people end up leaving early.
Cash bars are tacky.
With that said id rather attend a cash bar wedding than a dry wedding.

Neither, not all weddings are in an environment ideal for drinking and toonie bars are very common around here.

Not everyone can afford an open bar wedding. And I would hate to attend a dry wedding. I think having a cash bar will make your guests a little more responsible with how much they consume since they are paying for their own drinks. There is nothing worst than having to babysit a bunch of drunk wedding guests (who got that way on YOUR dollar)

dry.

Not worse! But "less desirable" in my opinion. I get out rarely, and so a wedding is a big date for us. I like to enjoy some wine with my husband and dancing is a little more fun after a drink or 2.

I hate cash bars I think if you do it it should be told to guests before the big day. I do not think a dry wedding is tacky there are a lot of reasons for them.

Quoting TrouserMouse:

I think whatever the couple feels is right for them is fine. Neither is tacky.

If I had a wedding with guests, it would have been dry because dh has some alcoholics in his family that tend to get out of hand.

I had a dry wedding because we had the wedding in dhs aunts backyard and I was being respectful of their wishes as they are very very anti alcohol!

My dad would've covered alcohol had I let him....

Quoting Syphon:

I think they are the same.  Dry wedding = I can't afford alcohol.  Cash bar = I can't afford alcohol
