I have a lot of job experience working in an office environement, as well as an Associates Degree (not that its really worth anything these days) and Ive never even made $15 an hour!! Yet these fast food workers are boycotting today demanding this very wage.

I will agree minimum wage does need to be risen. An article recently came out discussing how minimum wage has NOT kept pace with inflation. If it had then minimum wage would be a little over $10 at this point. I think thats a more realistic wage for Fast Food workers. But asking for $15 is just absurd.

Bash me if you will but this is my honest opinion.

You can always get a job working fast food if you want to make that wage.

I make 16.20 as an LPN. Soooo....if fast food workers want to make 15, then I want to make at least 23.

Don't forget the want to be union as well.  Some of the guys working in the area we are at were at breakfast this morning laughing that if fast food got that kind of pay they were quitting their jobs.  These guys work their asses off in mud holes.

Agreed.  Min wage was never menat to be a living wage.  Sadly it has come to this.  My first year as a teacher (masters in a very rural district), I divided my salary up to see what I "made hourly"...okay I'll be honest I did it by the minute too.  At any  rate, I made $12.  As much respect I have for every person, the job and education level needed (not held, simply required) is not above a first year teacher.
